In a heartening display of solidarity and service, Bihar’s senior civil, police, and forest officials came together on Friday to donate blood on the occasion of World Blood Donor Day. The event, held at IAS Bhawan in Patna, saw the collection of 207 units of blood.

The camp was a collaborative effort of the IAS, IPS, and IFS Associations along with active participation from their respective Wives Associations. A significant number of bureaucrats, police officers, forest officials, and family members voluntarily donated blood, reinforcing the message of compassion and civic responsibility.

Chief Secretary Amrit Lal Meena, DGP Vinay Kumar, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests Prabhat Kumar Gupta, and former Chief Secretary V.S. Dubey jointly inaugurated the camp.

Calling blood donation a “Mahadan” (supreme donation), Chief Secretary Meena emphasized the life-saving power of such acts. “Your decision to donate blood could save someone’s precious life. By donating blood, we truly serve humanity,” he remarked.

World Blood Donor Day is observed every year on June 14 to honor the millions of voluntary, unpaid blood donors who help save lives. The day serves as a reminder of the importance of safe, regular blood donations and the role it plays in healthcare systems worldwide.
